What is the M7 MZ-102?

The M7 MZ-102 is a new interactive TV receiver for satellite TV from Canal Digitaal. It is the successor to the M7 MZ-101 and via this new HD receiver you can receive radio and TV channels via satellite via the LNB of your dish.

How does the M7 MZ-102 work?

Do you connect the M7 MZ-102 to the internet via a cable or Wi-Fi? Then you can enjoy Canal Digitaal's interactive TV services and extra channels for free. Watch all your favorite programs via TV Missed, switch on later with Begin Missed or follow the best films and series via video-on-demand. You can even use the red button on channels for extra fragments, for example via NPO Start. With the MZ-102 you decide how and when you watch TV.

Compared to the M7 MZ-101, you can now also record series or programs with the MZ-102. Ideal if your favorite series is on TV but you are not at home. All you need is a hard drive. Your recorded program is stored on this hard drive, but the space is also used when you pause a series. An external hard drive with at least 16 GB is therefore essential. Are you recording? Then you can only watch TV channels on the same satellite transponder and the Internet channels, because the receiver only has one tuner.

– Security options for little ones. Add a parental lock to programs with explicit images? Thanks to a PIN code for parental control from the recipient, you can activate and deactivate a child lock on programs

– Support automatic dishes. The M7 MZ-102 HD receiver now also supports the DiSEcQ protocols 1.0, 1.1. Support for protocols 1.2 and USALS will be added shortly. From that moment on, you can also use the MZ-102 in combination with an automatic dish. Keep an eye on the website for the latest developments.

– Connect wirelessly to the internet. You can connect the HD receiver to the internet either wired or wirelessly. This gives you access to all interactive services. Via the home screen of the receiver you get access to a rich collection of content, such as live TV, watchback and series & films.

This is how you install the M7 MZ-102

Installing the new HD receiver is very easy. You can connect the HD receiver within five minutes once your dish has already been aligned. To install, complete the following steps:

Step 1: Remove the HD receiver from the box, take the supplied 'Installation manual' and easily connect the receiver.

Step 2: Turn on the HD receiver, choose the language in which you want to use the menu software (default: Dutch).

Step 3: Choose how you want to connect to the internet. This can be done, for example, via a LAN connection or via Wi-Fi. Don't want to connect to the internet yet? Then choose 'Skip'.

Step 4: If desired, you can change your PIN codes. The receiver and parental controls have a default PIN code of '1234'. The payment PIN code is set to '0000' by default.

Step 5: Have your new PIN codes been set? Then do the satellite scan. This configures the LNB and loads the channel list. The standard Canal Digitaal LNB configurations consist of:

Port A (satellite 1): ASTRA 19.2 degrees east

Port B (satellite 2): ASTRA 23.5 degrees east

Port C (satellite 3): ASTRA 28.2 degrees east

Port D (satellite 4): Hotbird 13.0 degrees east

Do you still need to set up and align your satellite dish set? Then go to 'Advanced settings' (or 'Setup & alignment', depending on the software version your receiver has) to measure the signal strength per available satellite.

Start by checking the signal strength for ASTRA 3 at 23.5 degrees east. Adjust the orientation of your dish and LNB until you get close to 100% signal strength (and quality). Then check the signal strength for ASTRA 1 at 19.2 degrees east and any other available satellites.

Do you want to complete the installation and only then align your dish and LNB? No problem. To do this, go to 'Settings' > 'Installation' > 'LNB configuration & alignment' in the menu.

Step 6: Is the configuration ready? The final step is a software check. Canal Digitaal offers software updates via internet and satellite. Loading an update via satellite can take up to 25 minutes. Therefore, make sure you also connect the receiver to the internet
